I thought I would share this weather resource to all you Anglers.
Its called XC weather and the link is here - fishing Weather
Hover over the area you fish in to find the latest wind speeds, Its very accurate.
You can select visability and temperatures.
A great angling resource.

This plug in Blue and silver is a true BASS catcher. I have had alot of sucess with the J11 and I would suggest that every Bass fisherperson has one in thier tackle box.
The action is that of an injured fish, making it all the more interesting to a hunting Bass

We had very strong winds here in CORNWALL last night. I checked xcweather.com and the wind speed was reported to be 72 MPH.
I would suggest after a good storm like that it could be worth fishing once the sea has calmed a bit.

I was looking at mapping options on the internet, trying to find the best one for angling. I didn’t have to look for long until I found this
Loe Bar fishing guide
Its just a search on MSN live search. I use GOOGLE maps on my fishing guide if you look at a listing, click the image, then follow the map link you will see.
MSN have done a better job, although the data is about 2 years old in Cornwall.
The satalite images give you a great idea on where to fish, you can see reefs and gullies. You can also get a lat and long from the URL and plot this into your GPS! volia.

This is the KAYAK I would like - the RTM Mambo
Its not the true angling type that many are using but this one is affordable and you can surf in it as well, meaning I can have fun in it with the kids during the summer.

Well I have had limited success on loe Bar but I have decided to go fishing here today situated between Porthleven and Gunwalloe beside that reef. Having read the species and results others have on this stretch it has to be worth a go.
Ray, Bass, Cod, Pout, Conger and Dab have been mentioned and it is a highly regarded shore fishing venue.
I will keep you informed as to how I get on. its 1306hrs now and high tide is at about 1700 so I better get prepared for battle.

I thought I would share a few snaps of Porthleven that I took while fishing this Tuesday hoping for A Flounder or Bass

There was a heavy swell running and the mark I wanted to fish at Loe Bar was un safe. I had to fish here due to my time constraints. I thought the stirred up water in this image might produce a BASS, so i set up a bubble float and baited with sandeel, but no joy at all. Read the rest of this entry »

I find that I get more sucess fishing for flatties (flounder and plaice) using a weight that slowly moves on the sea bed. I often use a ball bullet or light watch lead. My theory is it throws up mud and sand attracting the fish!
Using plenty of attractor beads and spoons, even a glow stick often improves the catch rate. Have a look here for more tips on Flounder fishing and here for using beads on Flounder rigs
If you have any of your own tips or questions please comment on this post.
Make you baits for Cod fishing very large.
Fishing 7 or 8 fat lugworm tipped with a chunk of squid can improve results. I put a stop knot on the hook snood, then a bead, then a flat washer ie a thin sequin. I thread the worm on then compress it with the knot and sequin
Rember big baits = big scent = big COD!
